Beware of the Dog House

Takes a while to load, almost 5 minutes of viewing time, but bwahahahahaha....

http://bewareofthedoghouse.com/

If you have RealPlayer, you should be able to download it pretty quick and see it full size, or go to http://bewareofthedoghouse.com/VideoPage.aspx and watch it there. I think JC Penney hosts it, and they have links to ways to get out of the doghouse and you can put somebody in the doghouse there. Haven't tried it yet -can't really think of who I know that needs to be in there. :o)

Christmas is Tight This Year

I just got this from my friend, Tina. I had to share...

My Dear Friends,

This is somewhat embarrassing to admit - I'm not getting
an annual bonus and Christmas is tight this year. I will be
making bedroom slippers for you all as gifts. Please let me
know your sizes.

You'll most likely agree that it's a splendid idea, and
should you wish to do the same, I've included the
instructions below.

How to Make Bedroom Slippers
out of Maxi Pads

You need four maxi pads to make a pair.

Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part. The other
two wrap around the toe area to form the top. Tape or
glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot
part.

Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers
(this is most aesthetically appealing), etc.

These slippers are:
* Soft and Hygienic
* Non-slip grip strips on the soles
* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable
* Environmentally safe
* Three convenient sizes: (1.) Regular, (2.) Light and
(3.) Get out the Sand Bags.

I've attached a photo of the first pair I made so that you
can see these nifty slippers for yourself....

When I read this to my husband, he pointed out that if you just use them sticky side against your feet, you wouldn't need the toe strap and you could go skating on the linoleum at the same time.

The Spoon Game

I don't know how my husband finds these things...

I've told the teenager he should get one of his buddies to go in on it with him and whack his brother-in-law.

An Engineer's Guide to Cats

I found this through a blogroll the Knoxville news has. My blog is listed on it, so sometimes I get hits from the Statcounter that lead back to it. When they do, I remember "Oh yeah, it's there, let's go check it out..."

So anyway, there 's a blog on there called Dave And Thomas Daily Timekillers (http://daveandthomas.blogspot.com/). They describe their blog this way:

Dave And Thomas are Knoxville, Tennessee's most unusual duo. We strive to find you the most intellectual news about beer, movies, and midgets that money can buy. We update daily on the odd news and pop culture that makes our world so great!

I don't know much about it, except that perusing the blog titles is interesting. I haven't looked at any of the stories yet, other than the one I'm about to share with you. I do kow that one of the titles I saw had something to do with John McCain being a cylon or something. Interesting...

Anyway, on to the video... Whoever did this had wayy to much time on their hands!

Is it wrong...

... to take great delight in popping cute little fuzzy things that have done nothing to harm me?

I've become addicted to Chuzzle, which is deceptively simple in concept. You can play it online for free at Yahoo games, or you can download it at http://www.popcap.com/games/chuzzle. The downloaded version has more features, and more kinds of games.

But, the object of the game is to get at least 3 chuzzles of the same color next to each other. Simple. When you group them, they pop, and little pieces of fur fly everywhere. You can tickle them & they giggle. They sneeze. They belch. They get mad and shoo the curser away. They go to sleep. They squeak. They're just really, really cute.

And I just love popping them.

Is that wrong?

  4. Empty the RECYCLE BIN
  5. Your PC will ask you, "Are you sure you want to delete Housework permanently?"
  6. Answer calmly, "Yes," and press the mouse button firmly....
  7. Now your Housework Is Done.
  8. FEEL BETTER?
  9. Go back to Doing all your online Things.

A new take on "Thriller"

Okay, I'm going to show my age here... I confess to being one of those teenagers who was anxiously awaiting the release of the video to Micheal Jackson's song "Thriller" in the 80's. This was back before he started having any surgeries and such, back when it was really cool to watch MTV and they played real music videos. Not like the really bizzare stuff they show now...

Anyway, I came across this on Yahoo! today. Inmates in a prison in the Phillipines have acted out the video, complete with a, um, ah... "damsel" in distress. The damsel has a receding hairline, but use your imagination. They had limited resources to work with... :o) It's a little over 4 minutes long, complete with sound. They did a pretty darn good job, too...

Like His Mother Used To Do

I've been getting some pretty cool poetry from my sister lately. Here's one:

Like His Mother Used To

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the crap out of him...
Like his mother used to do

Were you born between 1930 and 1979?

This edit has been added as a result of hits to my blog coming from birdfulebreakingnews.com. If you made it to this page from that one, would you please drop me a comment on what you clicked on to get here? I'm sure the fine folks at birdfluebreakingnews.com really didn't mean to send you here. There isn't anything at all about bird flue on here. Many thanks ~ Lori. 7/6/07

First off - made it the parent's house in OH without incident. We leave out at 0:dark:30 to take Dad to the hospital for his surgery. He's expected to stay in there for 5-6 days, if all goes well. I'll have to leave to go back to TN before he gets to come home. :o(

And finally, I got this in the email from one of our church members:

Those Born 1930-1979

READ TO THE BOTTOM
FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us...pass this on.

Kind of makes ya' think, huh?
